How It Works

Step 1 - Select Size and Order
Think about your finished art and placement in your home. The 5x7’ portrait will be matted to a finished size of 8x10”. The finished size of the 8x10” portrait is 11x14”. The finished size of the 11x14” portrait is 16x20”. Once you receive your portrait, you may want to frame it and that will add a few more inches. Simply click order now to get started.

Step 2 - Upload Photo of Your Pet
Take some time looking through your pet pictures and pick your favorite. Clear, well lit, natural lighting is best. Select a closeup and head on shot, showing as much of their ears, head, and neck as possible. Avoid poorly lit photos and make sure their best features are in focus. After purchase, you can upload your pet photo via the contact form on the contact page.

Step 3 - Custom Painting 3-4 Weeks
Once the order is placed, I will review your photo and begin your painting. I will notify you by email when I begin and let you know when you can expect your portrait. I use Artists' quality watercolors with a high concentration of finely ground pigment with high permanence ratings on 140lb cold pressed, high-quality watercolor paper. The background will be a color which compliments your pet.

Step 4 - Matted and Mailed to You
When your portrait is finished you will receive it in an acid free mat with bevel cut and backing board in a clear wrapper bag. I will select the color of the mat, black or white, to best complement your pets portrait. It will be shipped USPS in a ridged flat cardboard mailer. There are no refunds or returns for custom commissioned artwork.
